One of Carle's very best books. Don't bother with the hungry caterpillar. This one is the pick of the bunch! The grouchy ladybug reminds us of so many children and adults alike who are constantly looking for trouble, and indeed the ladybug learns his lesson. Carle's a master of accessible dialogue and makes this a fun book to read to others, especially if you like putting on the funny voices for your kids.
