Moist von Lipwig was a con artist and a fraud and a man faced with a life choice: be hanged, or put Ankh-Morpork's alling postal service back on its feet. It was a tough decision. But he's got to see that the mail gets though, come rain, hall, sleet, dogs, the Post Office Workers Friendly and Benevolent Society, the evil chairman of the Grand Trunk Semaphore Company, and a midnight killer. Getting a date with Adora Bell Dearheart would be nice, too. Maybe it'll take a criminal to succeed where honest men have failed, or maybe it's a death sentence either way. Or perhaps there's a shot at redemption in the mad world of the mail, waiting for a man who's prepared to push the envelope...

Reviews

"'A satirist of enormous talent' THE TIMES." "'Pratchett's joy in his creations, in jokes, puns, the idea of letters and language itself, makes Going Postal one of the best expressions of his unstoppable flow of comic invention'" The Times "'With all the puns, strange names and quick-fire jokes about captive letters demanding to be delivered, it's easy to miss how cross with injustice Pratchett can be. This darkness and concrete morality sets his work apart from imitators of his English Absurd school of comic fantasy'" Guardian "Going Postal again does justice to the author's peculiar vision. The weirdness of Discworld is appropiately captured in a tale of love and redemption which blends satire, humour and drama" The Daily Telegraph 20100529

5 of 5 Stars! – Customer review on 08/07/2007

Moist is in for a spot of bother when he is forced to reinstate the Ankh Morpork Postal Service! And (surprise surprise) hilarity ensues. You'll get more than a couple good laughs out of this book, and it is a great one to add to your book collection. Terry Pratchett is a great author - you should buy them all!

5 of 5 Stars! – Customer review on 23/06/2007

Moist Von Lipvig knows today's going to be a bad day. The worst day of his life, in fact - and, coincidentally, the last. All of the conman's escape routes are gone and he knows he shall have to hang - under the name of Albert Spangler, out of a desire not to embarrass his name more then it was already naturally embarrassed. So, Moist prepares himself for the end - but maybe it's not the end of life, but instead the end of life AS HE KNOWS IT...
