Hugh Lupton's humorous retelling of this classic, mouth-watering folktale will have children laughing out loud at the Gingerbread Man's antics. A young boy named Ollie Blaster comes to visit his two aunts and together they mix up a delicious gingerbread man. As soon as Ollie lets down his guard, the Gingerbread Man springs to life and a lively chase ensues.
This was a more modern version of The Gingerbread Man which has 'stitchers' and 'ditchers' in it. Great to be used with a class of children as the pictures are clear and the writing of the characters chasing, is written in a larger font. We used it as a choral reading story, and the students loved participating.
This book is full of beautiful illustrations. It has rich colour and lovely environments.
