Reviews

“A beautifully crafted novel rich in detail, adventure, and spirit. Donald Brobst is a new writer to watch.” —Robert Dugoni, bestselling author of My Sister’s Grave

“Don Brobst weaves together his medical expertise, passion for mission work, and strong writing to create a story you won’t soon forget.” —Steven James, bestselling author of Every Crooked Path

“It is rare in the world of fiction for a new novelist to pen a book so sensitive, so powerful, so unforgettable. Donald Brobst weaves a story that proves the point: one man, despite overwhelming odds and personal danger, can make a lasting difference in the world. This is a novel that shouldn’t be missed.” —Alton Gansky, author of Wounds

“Brobst is a talented storyteller, and he expertly unspools his plot to maximize both tension and suspense. He draws on his own experience as a doctor and traveler in Africa to create a world that feels both weighty and credible. Though the plot drifts uncomfortably into white-savior territory (Paul is deemed the “Chosen One”), the supporting characters are vibrant and fully realized. A well-constructed, immersive adventure set in Central Africa.” —Kirkus Reviews
