A good introduction to the world of gemmology (the identification of gemstones). If you are interested in becoming a collector of gemstones, then knowledge is a must and this is a good place to start - with an introduction to testing instruments, the best light to view gems, how to use basic instruments and useful tables throughout. Note that this is mainly a reference book with a 10 page section of colour plates.
