Having read the first two instalments of this series, I was not dissapointed by this outing, continuing on nicely from where False Gods left off.
The plot revolving around the relationships between the main characters (Loken, Saul, Abaddon etc..) was gripping and absorbing to say the least. It all helped add to the 'epic' feel of what the Horus Heresy actaully is.
Personally, I feel that something that did ditract away from this being outstanding read was the sub-plot revolving around the remembrancers and the iterators. I know that it is an essential part of what played out from the heresy, but it seemed like every time I was getting in to the guts of the story I'd be delayed by these characters.
