Bought this book in Peru on the way to Ecuador and the Galapagos. It was very useful in helping me organise my time there, especially in deciding which islands must be on my itinerary. The island chapter is very good, with maps and details of what you can expect to see and when and how to get there. I'm a keen wildlife watcher and the wildlife section didn't really contain as much information as I would have liked (I ended up buying a more comprehensive dedicated field guide to the wildlife whilst in the Galapagos), but it did provide enough to plan a trip well and would suit most people. Also, because it's such a thin and light book, it is easy to throw in the backpack without too much strain.
