Quite a nice, light, easy to read series. The stories are very similar to the twilight series and aimed at that teen age group.Full of teen angst, cat fights, dramas that seem to be 'life and death' - although it was a bit amusing how so many deaths and unusual occurances starting happening in the one town and none of the adults seemed to get too concerned about it. All in all I enjoyed reading these books.

I have just finished reading this series, and admit it was better than I expected. With all of the vampire series that are currently out this was light reading, and kept me up reading for many late nights! I liked the rivalry between the two brothers Stefan and Damon, even tough Damon was the 'bad' one, I admit that he made the series all that more enjoyable to read!

A very well worth read. Originally written for teen ages readers but I find the second and fourth story can be enjoyed by anyone who loves these characters. The character Stefhan tends to break your heart as the author really gives a strong look at his agony and his feelings of loneliness and loss over Elena, and its hard not to see the life of an attractive immortal vampire is more desolate and empty than films and shows try to make it appear.

I have just finished reading this series, and admit it was better than I expected. This book is targetted at teens and follow the spoilt but likable Elena, and her relationship with vampire twins Stefan and Damon. Very easy to read novels with simple characters that attempt to be more than good or evil but rather a mix. In to the turmoil of the vampire world is the usual angst of teenager's life. The vampire twins, Stefan and Damon are drawn to Elena as she is reminiscent of their past lover and maker. So the usual teenage love rival is thrown into the bargain.

Loving the Vampire Diaries. Enjoyble easy to read books. Way different to the TV Series. Stefan and Damon are gorgeous in the TV series really well picked actors. Recommed reading the books & Watching the series :-)

These books are very lightweight, even by the size of the book I knew I was in for a disappointing read. If you are under 15 these are probably enjoyable as they are short and relatively well written but do not buy these looking for something comparable to the Twilight series. They are not in the same league.
