Bah humbug, says Inspector Frost, whose season is soured not only in a search for a missing child, but by his new assistant, Clive Barnard, the boss's nephew. As Frost looks for the girl with the help of a dubious psychic, he finds a long-buried corpse. Then, to make Christmas even bluer, an old unsolved case is reopened.

I love this book. It's clever. It has humour. I laughed out loud at something Jack Frost said. The characters are so well drawn, I felt like I was an observer to the story watching them all going about their work. I love how Frost is disorganised and a slob but he's no fool and observes things his colleagues miss. He uses his gut feelings and has no respect for authority (Mullett). I have read 3 of the Frost novels and found this the "gentler" of the 3, a "softer" investigation but a real page turner as all the R.D Wingfield novels are.
I love how this book started and ended...I love the intrigue. It's believable good writing.
