This is a great introductory text on the frontier and how people would have lived. It has fabulous photos of many implements used then for cooking, gardening, spinning, etc. The text is well and interestingly written, not too dry. This would make a good supplement to living history books of the era to round out the student's knowledge of life on the frontier.
