Ten years and 10 titles later (including Froggy Learns to Swim) a favorite amphibian is still kicking in Froggy Goes to the Doctor by Jonathan London, illus. by Frank Remkiewicz. Froggy's nervousness subsides and the check-up turns cheeky when he engages in his trademark antics. (Sept.) Copyright 2002 Cahners Business Information.

I feel a little sheepish giving this 5 stars. Frankly, I don't much care for the Froggy series. Here's the truth, though - it doesn't matter what I think. My 5-year-old loves all the Froggy books, and they serve as great motivators for him to continue learning to read. I'd recommend this book over most of the other Froggy books. Froggy's misbehavior is (thankfully) not a major topic here, and the book conveys a useful lesson about doctors. Recommended.
