As a lover (and collector) of picture books, I fell in love with this book as soon as I saw it. The visual text is stunning and adds so much to the layers of text within the book. The written text is almost scratched into the page and the use of colour, line and shape also tell part of the story and set the mood and tone. The story itself is heartwarming (as is the case with most of Margaret Wild's books).
Brilliant!
