I adore this book, both for the recipes and for the gorgeous photos of the food and of India. My primary-school-aged kids have enjoyed thumbing through it, gaining a small insight into life in India. Delicious and educational! There's a broad, but not overwhelming, range of recipes for chicken, fish, vegies, breads, accompaniments and basics (yoghurt, paneer, coconut cream etc).

I haven't had any problems with the binding on mine, and it's had heavy use for the last 5 years.

One of the most regularly used cookbooks in my kitchen. The recipes are authentic, but with easy to find ingredients. Each dish turns out perfectly, just as good as at an Indian restaurant. The range of recipes is great - you're certainly not limited to vindaloo and butter chicken. The photos are all mouth watering.

I can't fault the recipes in this book; however the paperback binding is very poor. If you expect to use it a lot it might be worth tracking down the hardcover edition or looking at a different title.

Indian food is one of my favourite cuisines and I consequently own a ton of cookbooks and resolved never to buy another one as they generally all contain the same recipes - not so with this book. When I first thumbed through it, I was impressed with some of the modernised recipes and have since grown to prefer this book to all the other ones I have previously collected. Simple recipes, delicious tastes.
