The photo's in this book exceeded my expectation. The resolution of the photo's is awesome. The identifying features are clear. there is also a depth range and very brief description of where the fish are found - e.g. "upper contonental slope". There are about 117 fish photos. I was able to prove that a fish I caught was a Gemfish and not a Barracouta as other people thought.

very well presented book with great pictures. easy to identify fish with key to similar looking species of fish that you may mistake your catch for. this book will be of great value to us. slightly larger than an A5 sheet, each page has one very clear photograph of a single fish, full colour, with notes like how many anal fins or type of scales etc. also gives scientific name, maori name along with commonly called name. length and weight range is also mentioned, as well as locations caught around nz
