Wow life was hard with little opportunity to protect yourself from natural disaster. It was interesting to read about the life of a young couple who came from quite diverse backgrounds.
how they managed to keep going and always found a solution was great.
they showed the ability to keep a great attitude and make it work even in tough circumstances.
It made me appreciate what I have.

This book I think is when Laura Ingalls Wilder's story starts to get a little sader, even though all the details are not in this book since it was aimed more at children and sometimes left out particularly painful details. Almanzo and Laura and living together in their own little house and her experiences as a young wife and mother in another time are priceless, just to understand how difficult life was, how things could change so quickly is a real eye opener. As usual her writing is excellent, her details bring this time to life for us. Highly recommened.
