I love this book! I have just finished reading it a second time in as many months, and the second time was just as good as the first. YOU SLAY ME is the first book in a new series of novels titled "Aisling Grey, Guardian." While not strictly romance, it has a romantic storyline of Aisling and Drake, as well as a strong paranormal theme.
Our heroine, Aisling, is in Paris to deliver an unusual, occult statue, and winds up the suspect in a murder investigation as well as having her statue stolen. Aisling learns she is much more than a mere courier. She is a Guardian and part of the Otherworld, a kind of paranormal society. Our erstwhile hero just happens to be a dragon, Drake Vireo, the leader of the green wyverns who are rather good thieves. He spends a good deal of time trying to keep Aisling out of trouble. His sept is one of the four dragon septs. There are also the blue, who are good trackers and their wyvern (leader) Fiat Blu, the red, and the apparently silver. I've not read anything about the silver other than at Katie's site and a snippet in the back of YSM. All dragons are absolutely obsessed with gold, and I nearly laughed my butt off when Aisling was around a dragon or two with some stuffed down her bra. Made for some very interesting reading! While Aisling is trying to find her stolen statue, as well as clear her name, she enlists the help of Jim, a demon who takes the form of a Newfoundland. Unfortunately this also means she is now a Demon Lord, even if she does have only one demon ... who's a Newfoundland pooch.
The whole book was filled with many laugh out loud moments, and while they entertained me greatly, they did not entertain my dh trying to sleep beside me. It was so cool to have a novel set somewhere different, especially somewhere in Europe. I seriously hope most of them continue to be set there. Bet the research for that was groovy! I really like reading series books, and this promises to be a good one. If you've enjoyed Katie's other books and authors like Charlaine Harris and MaryJanice Davidson, you'll enjoy this one!

When I started reading the first one I didnt think Id be fussed to go further in the series, but by the time I'd finished it was strangely addictive. And this second book in the series certainly didn't fail in my expectation. The characters are still quirky and can be a little silly (but aren't we all?), but they have more depth and are way more fun. Overall, if you like this sort of thing-you'll love this :)

This is a really great, but different, book. While it may look like your average bit of chick-lit, it is actually a tale of the paranormal world colliding with our everyday world. Very lovable characters make this a book which you will find difficult to put down! A good holiday purchase
