I have already ordered this box set for myself and a fellow vampire loving best bud for Christmas. To get all eight books in a nice box for that pre-order price is phenominal! Works out to only be about $8 each book and you cant buy them singularly for that price. A liitle more hardcore than the Twilight books with more graphic scenes and sex. For an older audience.

i was not overly worried that these books were going to take a while to come as a bargain like that has to have a catch, and then i was AWESOMELY EXCITED to get them after only 7 days!! :o) (although i do understand peoples concern over not being told its a pre-order)
the books are in beautiful order and i cant wait to read them (again, although i had to borrow them last time) well worth the read if you are a fantasy creature fan, is quite simply written but still draws you in just the same. thanks fishpond for this awesome deal!!

I have really enjoyed The Sookie Stackhouse stories. I got interested after watching the True Blood series on TV. The books are written in the first person (being Sookie) which I like, and so you get to know Sookies thoughts on things etc, they can be quite witty & funny. I recommend buying these if you are into reading about vampires & supernaturals, I can definitely see myself reading them again, and they are very good value in the set of 8. I have since purchased the ninth book which I also enjoyed. Can't wait for the next installemant.

After watching the first season of True Blood , I just had to buy these books !!
And with the great story line they are so hard to put down,so its well worth buying all 8 at
once..I now love these books so much (& Eric Nothman) That I cant wait to get the rest from

Any fan of the show True Blood will LOVE this series of books. I whipped through these in a little over a week because I couldn't put them down. Will definately be reading them again in the future.

There is a 9th book ( which i've also read ) and i can tell you now, it will leave you chomping at the bit for May next year when the 10th book is released.

The characters you have come to know on the show go through some interesting situations. There is a growing connection between Sookie and Eric. There are some really touching moments and some very sad ones, which left me crying, but there is also some good one liners that cracked me up.

This is the talent of writer Charlaine Harris. Her ability to combine everything into a great novel and keep you enthralled with the goings on in and around Sookie's life and the people ( alive and dead ) of Bon Temps.

Buy these books, you wont be disappointed. I for one wish i'd discovered them a long time ago.

If you love Vampires, Werewolf's, Shape-shifters, Witches, Fairies and good old fashion Southern folk! then you'll love the Southern Vampire Mysteries aka Sookie Stackhouse
The way that author Charlaine Harris has created a world where vampires and humans co-exist, to an extent anyway, I really love the story line, it just grabs you right in and keeps you going all the way to book 10! and leaves you wanting more and more from the sookieverse!
I hope this series strives for many more books to come, and that HBO continue with the television series True Blood to go along with the books.

10/10 is my vote.

after reading twilight i thought i'd never get as hooked on any other books.
i was wrong! it took me a little while to get into the first book, but since i did i haven't stopped! i love these books.

only thing with this boxset was that the size of the books is a lot smaller than the ones i'd purchased from big w (the first two from this series)! this means it has smaller print, which i didn't like at first, but i got used to it.. and another petty issue i had was the cover art. the first book has the same cover as i'd seen in the shops - pale face, red lips. the second on looks like it's taken from the Trueblood tv series. then the rest are drawings. i would have liked them to be all the same theme, but hey, the stories are still the same!!

these books are addictive, so buying this boxset is well worth it!

Husband and I took this over to Fiji and couldn't put it down! I have loaned it out to several friends and I'm yet to hear a bad comment. I am not a fan of the Twilight books which to me seemed slow and boring (though more in depth). These are a VERY light read and you will go through them very quickly, so keep that in mind.
The only downside is the next one doesn't come out till MAY!

These novels are addictive, well written and sensual. I read ravenously finishing a book a day, unable to out it down until its conclusion, seems Ms Harris owes me sleep! The supernatural, paranormal and domestic are blended into an intoxicating narrative, full of joy and loss and hot otherworldly loving. I have finished book 9 Dead & Gone and now have to wait for the next instalment but least I have time to catch up on some sleep
