Another great story in the Sookie saga. Poor Sookie she gets beat up in every book & again this one is no different. Sookie has travelled with Eric, Pam, Bill & some other vampires to the vampire summit & also be a witness for the vampire queen. This is set after the disaster of hurricane katrina. But Sookie has other company at the summit other than the vampires like the only other telepath she has meet & Quinn her weretiger boyfriend. When Sookie is cornered by the queens right hand man Andre Eric proves to be the lesser of two evils. Which will surely cause futures problems. Bill's still apologising & professing his love & the Fellowship of the Sun show to be extremely dangerous. Once started could not put down. Hanging out so bad for the next installment.
Sookie Stackhouse is a truly lovable telepathic barmaid, you just can't help but like her. In this installment Sookie finds herself in the employment of the vampire queen for a very important vampire summit. She is also juggling many "mens" interest in her - there's Quinn the were-tiger, Eric a very old vampire and her ex Bill (another vampire). On top of this she has her brothers wedding to a were-panther to contend with and she is finding new uses for her telepathic abilities. This is a very hard book to put down and has plenty going on at all times.
The Sookie Stackhouse series, is just fantastic, and this installment doesn't disappoint at all!!!! Always twists and turns, excitement and fear all at once.
I love all the sookie books but i think this one was my favourite, the main fellowship of the sun and summit plot was fantastic. I can't decide on whether i want Sookie to be with Eric or Quinn, as the comment above points out that Quinn blows hot and cold i think Eric is just as bad at that. In one way she'd be better with Quinn as it would be a bit more of a normal life i.e. kids, marraige and he'll age along with her, but i just find the connection between Sookie and Eric so appealing too. I'm so intriuged to see which direction Charlaine Harris takes Sookie's love life. I can't wait to read the next book.
I really enjoyed this episode of Sookie Stackhouse; It was interesting to see how current world events shaped Sookie's imaginary universe.
I really want Sookie to get with Eric, I don't think I like the weretiger all that much, he keeps running hot and cold and that drives me nuts and I cant understand why it doesn't drive Sookie nuts either.
I thought this book as a bit more insipid than the previous 6 - time for some real action to start happening, and for her love-life to become a wee bit steadier I feel. Hopefully things will start to solidify at tad in the next installment.......
