This revised edition of the short novel originally published in Australia is specially adapted for readers of all ages with reading difficulties. There is no hell like a man-made one...It is an island that doesn't appear on any maps. A secret location where classified experiments have been conducted. Experiments that have gone terribly wrong...When all contact with this mystery island is inexplicably lost, four crack special-forces units are brought in, their mission being to land on Hell Island and discover what has happened. Nothing can prepare them for what they find there. You could say they've just entered hell. Only that would be too gentle.

A really good novella that encapsulates Reilly's snappy and detailed style of research into technology and modern warfare. Although many people will think that this novella could be developed into a full length novel, I believe that this does not dilute this novella in any way shape or form. The short read will give readers who don't have a lot of time the chance to experience Reilly's style. Definately a must for all fans of Reilly and for all those new to his writing.
I got this short novella from a book that I had bought after i had bought another book. When i had read it, it was more than worth just paying for this book itself. Fast paced, snappy, technologically advanced and highly entertaining, Reilly enters the realm of the short-story writer. This novel is a must for all Reilly fans and it is a great read for anyone without much time. The 128 pages fly by.
Another fantastic book from Matthew Reilly. Hell Island has just as much action and fast paced scenes as Reilly’s other earlier books but just in a shorter form. Special forces teams have just landed on the island of hell and it’s just about to get much much much much worse than even they could imagine.
I just finished this book, and as usual, was completely blown away by Reilly's writing style, which is very in-your-face and full of non-stop action. I really enjoy Reilly's Scarecrow character, and am anxious to see what's next for this intrepid warrior. I know Reilly has a lot of critics, but I love everything he's written and will continue to enjoy his works. This man knows how to write action!
A good short-ish story following the adventures of Schofield, the hero from Reilly's other novels "Ice Station" (an absolute ripper), "Area 7" (Not bad) & "Scarecrow"... this one is short on character development and big on "what the heck is going on here?"... a must for Reilly fans... it's a bit silly, but still a pretty good dread... worth a look for adventure fans...

i thought that this book was good but i think that some of the ohter Matthew Reily books were better than this one. but if you like him then you should still like this book. i think that thw writing is well done and that many people should enjoy it just as much as i have. five out of five stars. for this wonderfully good book and read
Typical of Matthew reilly's frenetic pace, although a bit outlandish...
SPOILER AHEAD!!!!!
Scarecrow - a wonderful character created by Reilly - and his 10 man team of marines (along with a Delta team, an 82nd airborne team, and a team of Navy SEALs) drop in on an island that was captured from the Japanese in WWII, now on no maps. Something's happened to a 600 strong outfit of marines that landed there not long ago. Military experiments have created monsters, and Scarecrow - along with the 6'2" "Mother" - must use all of his experience and wit to keep his men alive.
