Realizing that the passing down of information on ferrets between generations was in danger of dying out and finding little written on the subject the author was inspired to write this book. Since it was first published, ferret keeping has grown in popularity and this book, written in an easy, humorous style includes anecdotes drawn from the author's many years of experience. Advice is given on selecting ferrets, their care, feeding and housing, and how to breed from them. Training them to hunt and the techniques and use of equipment is fully described and there is a guide to the legal aspects of hunting. The use of guns, dogs and hawks is covered as is the technique of ratting with ferrets.
