I really liked this book. I borrowed it from a friend when I was pregnant. It is visually beautiful and it has some great recipes, making it a great gift for pregnant friends. It does not have photos but the recipes are enticing enough so they weren't missed. It has lots of short, sharp nutritional info, and as a nutritionist I thought that would be useful for pregnant readers. Highly recommended!
I found this book extremely helpful on a number of fronts. Our baby was diagnosed antenatally with health issues (diaphragmatic hernia) and I used this book every day focusing on recipes that assist lung and organ development. It is simple to follow and the recipes are delicious. Our baby is now one year old and I still cook some of the recipes.
I saw this book advertsied in the newspaper and immediatley tried to purchase it, it was sold out everywhere, I even ordered one in a bookshop and after more than a month of them not being able to get it decided to look on the net and felt so lucky to find the book that I wanted and now needed as I have just found out that I am pregnant.
I started to read it the minute it was deilvered and have not put it down since.
Excellent resource! Food was yummy and easy to prepare, not to fancy but not plain tasting either- plenty of variety. Great nutrition advice too, which provided me with motivation to eat well. :) A must have!
This book has some great recipes for the pregnant mum; we used it a lot. However we found that a lot of them were a bit lacking in salt for our taste. The best thing about this book is how easy the recipes are to make and follow, but there are no photos or pictures, which would have made it more appealing. Recipes for each trimester are divided into four sections: Breakfast, Light Meals, Mains and Sweet Things.
