This book completely grossed me out. I couldn't eat fast food for months after reading it and it made me totally disgusted with the commercial fast food industry. I would recommend it to any body who is trying to cut down on the amount of fast food they eat or anyone who wants a bit of knowledge behind what they're really putting into their body. They may find themselves not-so-pleasantly surprsied!

A must read for anyone who has ever eaten fast food or bought anything from a franchise store.
If you liked the film "Supersize Me" you will love this far more gritty account of the fast food industry in America.
The book covers the entire fast food life cycle, from the restaurant right back to the farms where the “food” (if you can call it that) is produced.
It didn't turn me off fast food my grossing me out. It turned me off by exposing this incredibly corrupt and underhanded industry.

Very interesting book about how bad fast food is for us, not to mention the problems with the whole industry. It definitely opens your eyes to a lot of things you might not have thought about. I'm not into fast food anyway, so this book made me feel pleased with myself (haha). It's written in a very entertaining way, it has the facts but it also blends in anecdotes, and not in a cheesy way (some books do it). I read it as a teen and found myself engaged enough to finish it easily. I also watched the film, which wasn't as good.

Having never eaten fast food for nearing 8 years now, this book reminded me of every reason why I quit. It shows the shocking truth of the fast food industry; where it came from, where it's going, and how it got to be this huge, just like peoples' stomachs. When the developing world is still suffering from food shortages and the age of manufacturing and processed food is becoming standard procedure in the West, it should make you sit up and take notice of the truth of the industry.
Think twice before picking up that next fat-laden, processed burger...
