Out of all of Laura's stories my 8 year old son loved this one the best. Probably because it is about Laura's husband Almanzo's childhood and growing up on a farm.
It is full of wonderful stories of typical childhood feelings in the setting of the early pioneers.
My son especially loved the pig chewing candy and when Almanzo threw a dirty duster at his sister and ruined the parlor wall!
Not only is this an enthralling story, it also has valuable lessons on morals and manners that just shine through and don't need explanation.
A wonderful book for anyone.

I really enjoyed learning about Almanzo and all the things he did as a child.
the discriptions of each farm task was fascinating and the long hours they worked
were amazing.
I would definitely recommend it to anyone interested in history and its a good read for children.
