"Explorers" is a new first reference series for children of six and above: those who are just starting to read alone and more confident readers who are beginning to exercise wider reading and cross-referencing skills. Lively, story-based artwork scenes draw children into a subject, and each scene is followed by a photographic information spread that gives a wealth of extra detail. As a fun, extra, interactive element, coloured 'journey link' buttons allow readers to choose their own path through the book. About the Author

Stephen Savage is a biologist, natural history author and Education Controller for the Rover Ocean Foundation. He also assists the Sea Watch Foundation's marine mammal rescue programme. Stephen has written more than 40 natural history books for children.
