Essential Reiki is a good book to use as a guide for those studying Reiki or for those already practicing Reiki. It explains in detailed, yet simple terms what is involved and expected within the 3 degrees. It also provides easy to follow instructions on how to draw and use the traditional Reiki symbols, as well as where to hold your hands during a self healing or healing of others. Stein suggests that her book is the only one like it on the market, it may have been in 1995; however there are now countless books that give equally detailed explanations on the intricacies of Reiki. Despite this claim it is still a good book to have if you are interested studying Reiki.

Diane Stein demystifies many things about Reiki in this book. Detractors may say that she has moved from the traditions of Reiki but I believe that her work in general has done more for the evolution of Reiki any other author I’ve read. She explains and illustrates the coveted Reiki symbols, explains her take on the whole “master” deal and allows people with no training to not only get a taste of Reiki but have a good basis of knowledge for whether they wish to go any further with it. All in all a good and enjoyable book for beginners, experts or those with no experience at all.

This Reiki Guide is an excellent resource for the beginner or intermediate Reiki learner. Its an easy and informative read. I would reccomend this to anyone who wishes to become informed about the different aspects of Reiki.

Excellent work manual on this subject it guides you through the stages of Reiki and what it means.Heaps of pictures.I would pass this book on to anyone who is interested in this subject as it covers a lot and has a lot of information it is very handy.A must read.
