If you are already a fan of Destitute Gourmet you will want to add this book to your collection. A great new format, smaller size well bound, with nice glossy paper and a dust jacket.
If you're new to DG then buy one of the earlier books first, they are more comprehensive.
Some great recipes in this, but perhaps not a lot of new ideas, most have been done in similiar form in one of the other three books.
While the format is appealing a lot of the recipes aren't pictured.
Sophie's chapter introductions make cheerful reading and she, as always, captures that feeling of home comforts and cooking.

This is a great cook book. Basic cooking and very very easy to find ingredients. Low cost of course as that is the main theme to Sophies cookbooks. But definately not low on flavour.
I have made the Cheese Scones, home made spice mixes, Peach Cobbler and learnt how to roast the perfect chicken and roast potatoes. Simple things which I needed reminding of. Delicious tips and Gluten free and dairy free alternatives too.
So far I love this book along with her others and my family does too.

This is a great book, love the simplicity of sophie's books, lots of good advice on setting up a pantry and menu planning, has saved me many times when the temptation to buy takeout has arisen.

I hadn't "met" Sophie Gray before, and I didn't get very far into the book before discovering she's a Kiwi. There were a couple of expressions in her friendly dialog that I was unfamiliar with, but the recipes are fine - nothing lost in translation there!
Lots of tasty, healthy recipes, and no overly expensive ingredients or utensils required. Maybe not a book for the experienced, adventurous or inventive cook, but for those younger, less experienced people setting up a kitchen, there's plenty of good advice.

This is a great cookbook from Sophie, with lots of recipes, and alternative recipes for gluten and dairy free food. Really great ideas for the endless 'what am i going to cook for tea' dillema that we all face each night. Again, just really yummy food from really basic ingredients.
