The virtue in this book, an easy single-sit read, is in bringing
the full range of questioons regarding alcohol to the floor, from
those on the time-tested truisms (drinking milk before alcohol) to
more serious questions (alcoholism and genetics) to far-reaching
international questions (alcohol and ethnicity).

The Chafetzes remind us that, by and large, humankind and alcohol
beverages have peacefully co-existed for thousands of years. In
this increasingly stern age, when we far too quickly discard those
things that add to the enjoyment and richness of life, this book
gives us ample reason to hold close the time-honored tradition of a
drink or two among friends.

I have known Morris Chafetz since we were on the President's
Commission Against Drunk Driving together. He continues to be
dedicated to educating the public about the myths and realities of
alcohol. Whether or not you drink you should know the facts of
alcohol use and abuse. This book provides helpful information so
you can make intelligent and educated decisions about your own
drinking habits.
