Excellent book, it has all the information you need and also the author writes it with humor to keep you reading more. I read this from cover to cover and learnt alot about photography.

This book is BY FAR the best training book on Digital photography I have ever read and used. Far from being a book of technical facts and figures which is what one tends to get with "how to" digital photography books, this book takes the reader from step one to a perfect picture in a very different way. Instead of explaining shutter speeds, apertures etc etc and then leaving it up to the user to work out what works with what and when, this book presents a shot and then explains what exactly to do, what settings to use etc., to get that shot. I have tried countless of the examples used and sure enough the results one sees in the book are reproducable.
A brilliant piece of "how to" expressed clearly and sprinkled throughout with quite refreshing humour! 10 out of 10 for me!

Great book, good for all level users. There is the other Box set of all three volume. it may give you better value...

This book has great tips and it's very easy to read.
I quite like the humour too, nice touch from the author. I recommend this book and the second one for both amateurs and professionals and I'm looking forward to the third one soon.

wow! "like the pro's" is right - this book is detailed, slick and amazing. It's not at all where I"m up to in photography skills myself so every page is new info for me. I've learned heaps and it is very readable, very understandable, not too technical. recommended

easy to understand
could use a few more examples like before and after and slightly bigger pictures.

you do need to buy the second book
little dissappointing that the author keeps refer to further books he has written and wants you to buy.

This is a very basic book and aimed at the novice photographer. But in saying that there are a number of really great tips that will make your images stand out from everyone else's.

Have really enjoyed this book as it is written in a way that someone like me just starting out can make sense of apperture, exposure, macro and everything else. Really inspires one to have a "shot". Lots of great tips and hints.
