Marcel Danesi is Professor of Semiotics and Anthropology at the University of Toronto. He has published extensively in the fields of media and popular culture. Among his recent publications are Brands (2006), Popular Culture: Introductory Perspective (2007), and The Quest for Meaning: A Guide to Semiotic Theory and Practice (2007). He is currently the editor-in-chief of Semiotica. He is also a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada.
