I very much enjoyed ‘Diary Of A Wombat’. If you have ever had a pet that rules your household you will see that animal in the wombat and have a laugh. It has a story that rings true, bright colours, great pictures and if you get it in the hard page book will be safe to let small children turn the pages without fear of them tearing it. I think young children and the adults reading it will enjoy this story. I find it is always better to read a book to a child if you enjoy it too (especially if you have to repeat the same book over and over again) and this is one of those books for me. Jackie French books are great for those looking for children’s story books with an Australian theme

A sweet & simple book that your baby will adore.
Follow this darling wombat through her days & laugh at her cheeky loveable ways.
My son loves the idea of a wombat living in his back garden.
Spark your childs imagination & love of animals with this endearing story.
You'll also see human kindness & how animals really do have us wrapped around their little finger.
Or should I say paw.

This is a gorgeous book, which adults will enjoy reading to kids. I love the gentle humour, but I did find that the board format is a little perplexing - I assume that a board book is for little children, and my 4 year old can only now really understand the humour, and she's no book slouch. My 16mo enjoys the repitition without really understanding the concept of the story. Having made those reluctant criticisms, I would recommend the book because it is clever and subtle, the illustrations are lovely and funny, and even if smaller children don't quite understand the story, they will like the wombat character and one day, the light will dawn!

It's a heart warming and funny little story about a very enduring wombat and how it sees the world. My two year old daughter wanted me to read it over again at bedtime. The boardbook format is just great for little hands, no need to worry about tearing pages! :-)

Terrific and funny. Loves how the author using such simple way to describe a wombat's habit and telling the story in a wombat's pespective. I read this to my son and everytime I read it I couldn't help laughing at the cute wombat scraching the hard to reach itch bits.

I love this book!! The wombat is as cute as it is possible to be, the illustrations are adorable, and the storyline is delightful. Jackie French's style of writing is unique and quirky. It's like Bridget Jones for kids... as written by a wombat! Young and old alike will love this book - I was laughing out loud in the bookshop when I first read it. You'll love this little wombat with an attitude and a big appetite!
