Unfortunately, I have to be the voice of dissent on this one. I loved the previous three Night Huntress books, and thought Bones and Cat were one of the hottest couples out there in the PNR genre, but was definitely wondering at the end of the third one whether the series really had another book left in it. I have to say after reading DFAEG that the answer for me is no. The problem is not so much the plot of the series, but that the chemistry between Bones and Cat, while still very much present, has lost a lot of its tension and sizzle. This book tries to recreate that, introducing a potential rival for Cat's affections and putting Bones in the position of a threatened lover. While the idea has merit, I found the execution clunky and unconvincing. Gregor has very little personality, and Cat never seems particularly drawn to him. And the end result--lots of bickering and spats between Bones and Cat--is more tiresome than sexy. I think the Bones/Cat storyline has more or less played itself out, which was kind of inevitable given its intensity. I'm kind of hoping Frost starts a new, completely unrelated series so we can experience it all over again.

OMG!!! Have I been waiting forever for this book to release.
And I am glad that it came and thank fishpond team for bring it to me so soon.
This breathtaking book in the night huntress book is not to be missed. The tension between
Cat, Cat's fiancee - Bone and Cat's 'husband'-Gregor is just off the hook. This was the book I've been crazily wanting
Jeanine Frost to write. It is purely just Cat and Bones and don't even get me started with the whole possessiveness,
territory and jealousy that comes with being one's lover, especially when that particular lover is a vampire.
Let the game begin. I can't wait for Spade's book - First Drop of Crimson. Vampires are the best!!!!!

i love this series, Destined for an early grave is the fourth in the Night huntress series. Bones and Cat think they can finally indulge in marital bliss when a vampire from the past threatens to tear them apart.....Cat must convince her self and the vampire community that Gregor is not her long lost husband. Through out the book cat and bones are tested in their devotion to each other, how they will prove once and for that they are destined to be together. This series has everything romance, sex, death twist, turns and above all vampires.

This book is absolutely amazing!!! As a huge fan of the night huntress series I was waiting like an addict for this book to come out. Needless to say I was left breathless and on the edge of an anxiety attack at some points. If you are a fan of the series it is not to be missed. DFEG follows the traditions of her previous books to the tee snakey comment, posessiveness, sexual tension, humour, fighting with blood & gore and of course the romance. The tension that is created throughout the book is just brilliantly written and as a reader you are truley sucked into feeling what Cat is (hell I'm in love with Bones). It was great to see the book so involved in the relationship side of Cat and Bones instead of just battling and plotting against the badie..in this case obsessive medalling 'husband' who's just asking for it...oh and 'Cinnamon'too. I would recommend this book to anyone well worth the money and definatly a keeper!
