About the AuthorProfessor Roy Ballantyne holds the position of research director in the University of Queensland's School of Tourism, and has an international reputation as a leading researcher in interpretation and environmental education. Karen Hughes is currently a senior research assistant in the University of Queensland's School of Tourism. She holds a master's degree in tourism, has lectured in the areas of interpretation, environmental impacts, cultural tourism, and ecotourism, and has recently commenced her PhD research. Gianna Moscardo is currently an associate professor at James Cook University's School of Business where she teaches tourism, sustainability, and persuasive communication in the MBA program. Previously, she worked in a research center managing and leading projects in interpretation evaluation, understanding tourist experiences, and managing human impacts in heritage environments.
