"I purchased your book after seeing reference to it on the forum. I just wanted to say that the information you have chosen and the way you have presented it, along with the relevant equations is by far the best example of all the amplifier books I have read. I have read parts of Self's book, Jone's book, Slone's book; however your book is the most suitable for my position. After getting your book I put down the others - perhaps I will revist them after I read your book a couple of times (working on paper as I read)!
I am a final year electronics engineering student and I am doing my final year project and honours thesis on a amplifier of my own design. Obviously I have good electronic background and can certainly handle equations. But the other books are lacking in design related equations and are too verbose in their dealings with distortion and the like. It is as though if they merely talk about concepts then the reader is supposed to figure how they are applied electronically. For me it is figuring out how to apply amplifier concepts electornically that I need to learn - not the electronics itself.
Your book is different to the others and better - it provides me with enough guidance, and is fantastic how it provides a "building up of knowledge" - ie. going from the building blocks to anaylsing a simple three-stage, to the evolution into a high performance amp and all the steps along the way. You have also managed to contain way more informatio nthan the others (which are also very similar to each other). Fantastic work and it is really helping with my Audio Engineering class and final project! Thank you so much!"
