Oh so very disappointing!
Hoping for a sweeping, epic tale of the rise and fall of the mighty Lion El' Johnson, I jumped at the opportunity to read this. However this is not that.
A mildly entertaining tale that I felt separated me too much from what I really wanted to see, the character of the Lion; and just what led Luther to betray him?
A vague and frustrating read that left me feeling, "what was the point of that?" perhaps that question will be cleared up with the sequel from another author.
The only redeeming factors for me were the attachment I have with this history (future?) and the interesting dynamics of Luther and the Lions characters, points of view and relationship.
