A bit of a different tack from his previous best seller 'Touching the Void'. However, I found it to be a much deeper book. Is it ever ok to leave people to die high on the mountain? Simpson has been high, and left to die, and therefore has a profound understanding of the problems mountaineers face when confronted with the death of a fellow climber. A very thoughtful read about what really happens in the death zone.
