Years of Psychiatric Practice, family life, prayerful reading and Spiritual Direction have given Gerald G May the skills necessary to write of profound truths in a wonderfully accessible and highly readable way. May gives new meaning to the writings of John of the Cross and Teresa of Avila and speaks of the challenges of life in a way that comforts far more than it disturbs. May is no 'Pollyanna" but a wise man who has experienced many things in life including a life threatening illness but still relishes life and all it holds. This is a most helpful and insightful book and a real joy to read.
