The latest novel in Karen Chance's Cassandra Palmer series sizzles with a life of its own, bringing so many extra facets into play and starting Cassie's latest journey - acceptance as Pythia.
With the threat of Apollo and the Silver and Black Circles above her head, life becomes even harder as she is forced to accept loss, betrayal and understand the greater concept of things around her in the magickal world. As her relationship with Mircea changes, can she beat down the jealousy that comes along with it, as well as Mircea's possessiveness?
I just finished the book minutes ago and can tell you that it was almost impossible to put down once I started! Another brilliant novel by Karen Chance - I cannot wait for the next!

I was chomping at the bit for the latest Cassie Palmer story to come out, and sad to say it was a bit of a disappointment! While the go-go-go nature of the story continued and the action was great, Chance's writing was at times hard to follow with a labrinthe-like stream of landscapes that were hard to get your head around. I have a great imagination but I had to read some pages a few times over to try picture it, which was frustrating.
Mircea and Cassies relationship while still spine tingling, left me wanting. The passion of the previous three novels was left out this time and was definitely missed. And when the time came for the ultimate show-down with Apollo, it was all a bit of an anti-climax.
Not a bad read but a poor follow-up to the previous novels (which I highly recommend). Hope the next installment will be better!

I really like Karen's style of writing, it's action packed and nothing even close to being predictable.

Another great Cassie Palmer installation. More fascinating details on Pritkin's past and his growing relationship with Cassie. Catch the punchline at the end!

Another excellent book from Karen chance, and one I have been waiting to read. Written about the continuing story about Cassie, the world's most uneducated Pythia, her love temptations in the form of Mircea, vampire overlord, and a grumpy warrior mage...It charts her mission to unify the forces of power on the earth to battle against the delusions of the mad God Apollo. Will the forces of right prevail? Will she find out how to manage her powers? Will she change her ideas about love? Read it and find out.

Karen Chance continues to deliver a great urban fantasy story in her latest book Curse the Dawn. Cassie leaps from one frying pan after another, with a whole melting pot of vampires, wizards (good and bad), and nasties after her. As she struggles to master her visions and untested abilities the book jumps in with both feet, and you are pulled along all the way through the story. If you are anything like me you know the sign of a good book is when you dread turning that last page, and suddenly realise that the sun coming up !!
Highly recommended to all for it's original storyline and smoothly flowing chapters, and I for one am now waiting (impatiently) for the next book in this series.
Definitely a keeper and one to recommend to friends, the Cassie Palmer series is moving into my Top 20 list of "must read" urban fantasy/paranormal series.

Karen Chance continues to explore fiesty Cassie and her fast paced antics. The relationships between the key characters expand and at times humour and horror are mixed, deliciously. I enjoyed every minute and eagerly await the next installment!
