This is a fantastic book. It has some great ideas which are easy to achieve with things you'd have around the house. It's also really affirming if you like to do some things the 'old school' way and think that it might actually be nice to make things rather than buy things for kids games and parties. For anyone who hopes that their kids will grow up knowing that something you make yourself is just as good as something you buy at the shops (or better). I highly recommend this one.

This is a really valuable book if you are looking for new ideas in raising your family. The author suggests very simple but thoughtful ideas to enrich your children's lives. A refreshing change from all the commercial rubbish that is thrown at you. The emphasis is on valuing the child and appreciating creative elements of daily life.

This book is very inspiring - if you are looking for fresh ideas for activities with your children, or introducing new traditions, then this is a great book for you. Amanda's life philosophy permeates the book as she involves her children in all parts of household life, and the things she suggests are not at all expensive, often using things you have lying around the place.

a sweet little book, full of warmth and good ideas for family gatherings and activities. An interesting resource for parents wanting to approach things more simply and creativly witin thier family, I like flicking through the book from time to time but have not sat down to read it. I recommend it for parents with very young children or for home schooled children.

Amanda Soule has some very nice ideas to share, and the overall sentiment of the book is earnest and refreshing. Really probably only suitable for the crafty parent, or one interested in being crafty, but presumably that's the type who picks it up anyway. The die-hard sugar-coated parenting gets a bit much at times. A very useful resource guide is included at the end.

An easy to read, useful book. This book inspires you to find ways to be more creative with your children. There some simple creative ideas that I had never thought of doing with smaller children. There are several ideas that i am looking forward to trying out with my own children. I definately like to focus on less toys and more creativity.
