A fantastic read. A nicely printed version of the Chinese text appears along side the translations and Red Pine's notes below each poem are invaluable to explain the historical and religious context of the poems. Cold Mountain is a favorite of Gary Snyder and this book is a great way to further understand where Snyder is coming from.
