claimed by shadow the second book is of Cassie's sturggle and adventure. is a book that you cant put down. You Immediately get absorbed into the world of magic, where only vampires, mages and magical creatures roam. i throughly enjoyed it and loved the romance as it Blossomed before my eyes. this is a book that not only vampire lovers will love but any one that loves an adventure and the supernatural. read this book it is worth it just for the experience.

Just as good, if not better, than ‘Touch the Dark’. Cassandra Palmer has suddenly become the world’s chief clairvoyant, although her training has been a little, well, null and void. Now every vamp, Fey, or mage in the business either wants her [or her power], or wants her dead. One particular master vampire wants her to the extent that he has issued a magical claim to warn off any other suitors, which doesn’t suit Cassie although he suits her down to the ground. Brilliantly written, with lots of humour in a darker fantasy than those of the Feehan ilk. Thumbs up to chance, despite the first-person style.

I found this one a bit easier to focus on than the first book. The backtracking explaining about certain characters ie how this vampire happened to be and that witch was overwhelming. I ended up skimming over those bits to get back to the actual story/adventure bits.
The story I really liked and will be reading the rest of the series.

This girl just seems to go from trouble to worse trouble. How she manages to avoid it and/or get away is a miracle in its self. Well written, a book that you just can't seem to put down once you have started...

The best so far out of the Cassie Palmer series (it gets easier to follow once you learn the mountains of information that the author bombards you with in the first two books). I have already preordered the fourth instalment

I enjoyed this book, though I had bought if for my 14 year old daughter but have not let her have it as I found the sexual content to explicit for her age.

I enjoyed the first book (Touch the Dark), I found it different and fun. I was really keen to see how Cassie's Pythia powers would develop, how her relationship with main guy would progress and how she would manage the challenges she faced from the people out to get her. Unfortunately, after reading Claimed by Shadow, it was a great read BUT - I was still left wondering about the exact same questions! From my point of view, her powers haven't progressed very far at all, things with the guy haven't changed much and the same people are still out to get her. Also the good guys and bad guys seem to be swapped around so its not clear who is what anymore.
I'll read the next book to see if Cassie makes any real progress, but if not then I probably won't bother reading any more of the series. I don't enjoy books in series that don't seem to get anywhere!
But don't let me put you off, it is still a very good read, just be prepared to get more books if you want to get any real satisfaction!
