LUANA RINALDO studied illustration in Milan and London. In addition to illustrating many children's books, she also designs fabrics for children's clothing. Luana illustrated our first four Clackers titles, "Bee, Fish, Bunny, "and "Duck, " and lives in Milan, Italy.

This lightweight, highly attractive, albeit small board book (6.2" x 3.3" x 1.4") boasts bright, appealing colors which are contrasted well (orange, blue, green, pink, green). Cartoon baby animals are smiling and welcoming. Glossy cardboard over colorful foam inserts makes it easy for the littlest hands to grab (and they will want to grab this inviting little book. The center page of the book extends to become the handle, which one holds onto for `clacking' (flapping the pages together). The handle also has a dime-sized hole, which gives a textural exploratory point for little fingers, or can serve as a way to hang this neat little book on a diaper bag! The pages don't open up all the way, due to the `clacking' design, but little heads can get up close to the book. Best for personal use, it will make a fine addition to a library's board book collection.
