This is the second book in the Mortal Instruments Trilogy, and it is even better than the first. I couldn't put it down. The characters are really developed in this book, and everything is well described. Cassandra Clare is definitely a talented writer. There's a mix of everything in here and it's all perfectly balanced.
Just like City of Bones, there are a lot of twists within the story line, to keep you guessing what's going to happen next.
Once I was finished I couldn't wait for the final book to be released. This is a must-read for fans of City of Bones.
I was reluctant to even begin reading this series as the bookshelves seem to be flooded with similar stories of vampires, warewolves and demons.
So I was very surprised when I not only started to enjoy the book, but couldn't put it down. I finished the first book so fast I was back online buying the sequel speedier than an angry demonhunter (Sorry, I had to).
The characters are believable and so is the fantastical world that Clare has created.
The second book to the Mortal Instruments Triology is just as good as the first (City of Bones). I really enjoyed City Of Ashes and couldn't put it down, it has many surprises in it, is fast paced, hilarious but also has lot of emtional tension in it.
City of Ashes is filled with many likeable characters, Magnus Bane being one of my favorites.
A must read for lovers of the supernatural.
