I have read so many books on health and nutrition and spent so much money. All books contradict each other so its quite confusing. This book is now my food bible and I never need look at or buy another. It has all the information you will need to know how to live a healthy life and what foods to consume or avoid. Absolutely worth the money...even at twice the price I would buy it. I first got it from the library so checked it out and after that purchased it. An exceptional read from people who seriously know what they are talking about.

I would urge every single person to read this book at least once. If this doesn’t convince you to reassess things you have been told by billion dollar companies and get you to take action and responsibility for your diet, nothing will and I hold grave concerns for your health. The facts are here and this subject has been studied many times over, with the same findings based on solid research and evidence. Reading this book could certainly save your life, especially those with family members effect by cancer, stroke, diabetes, bone problems and other degenerative disease.

I wish I'd read this book years ago! The misinformation I've "swallowed" over the years from so-called nutritional experts has only served to frustrate and confuse me more, whilst I battled weight and health issues. At 48 years of age, I'm a gym junkie and love most exercise but no matter how disciplined I was on each diet regime, I know now that I was never going to win in the long term because I was on the wrong bloody diet regime all along! I'm about a month into adopting the whole foods, plant-based diet and already I feel and see all the obvious positive signs that I'm doing the right thing by my body. It's so empowering to be in possession of the truth for a change.
My body was screaming at me through weight fluctuations and general sickness to stop the madness. Thanks to the scientifically proven information provided by Colin Campbell in this book I am now armed with the correct knowledge to do that. Yeah yeah, I'm not going to live forever (who wants to), but me and my family are going to enjoy the benefits of excellent health, energy and strength for as long as we possibly can!

I guess you could say this book is like my bible... I read this 3 years ago and since then, I have not looked back. I am now vegan as a result. This book in all its facts and logical thinking encouraged me to look at nutrition, health, the food industry and life differently. My life, attitudes and overall health has changed signifcantly. It possesses a wealth of knowledge based on years of experimental data. If you are ready for change, or simply want to expand your thinking, this is the book for you!

best book I have ever read regarding dietary beliefs and stigmas. I am a health practitioner focusing on the selfempowerment of people. This book tells you "why" you need to revise your diet.

This book is amazing, had to keep reading it.What I thought about the health industry is right. This is a very convincing work on why we should change our diet. The doctor is a changed man himself because of his studies and it makes facinating reading. I am telling anyone who will listen what his findings have been. Do your self a favour, read it and live!

An extremely informative book on nutrition and its effects on health and the different areas of research to back it. The author is a key figure in the nutrition science world in the US and attempts to tell his story, and his interpretation of the body of knowledge on nutrition science. It is also very easy to read as you do not need a background in science to understand the points that he makes. It is a highly entrapping read if you are interested in the area of nutrition and its effect on health.
Do not expect quick fix, single nutrient food property answers here. It is more a wholistic story on nutrition that tells you more than most government or medical establishments are willing to tell you. Some aspects of the findings are highly controvertial, but never the less worth telling. It is also very eye opening on how industry, science and government end up intermingled in the US (and quite possibly how it is in other developed countries with thriving food, livestock and drug industries).
While reading the book I urge to keep an open mind while reading the research results, and the authors recommendations. Just because one study has shown an association between one factor of diet and a particular disease, does not mean that a causal relationship can be established and that one factor is the cause of the disease. The biochemistry of disease is much more complex. Being critical in this aspect will reduce the anxiety that some of the research results may provoke.
Never the less, I believe that if you follow the books advice as closely as possible, good health and longeivity can only result.
