It is such a shame that Fishpond does not allow for a great button when asked to do the rating, or even a fantastic button ... I would not be exagerating if I siad that this is by far my favourite children's book ever!! I am totally infatuated with this little creature. I am so enthused with it that I am planning a gruffalo birthday party at the end of October for my two children. I have discovered a whole beautiful, colourful Gruffaised world on the internet. I have discovered party invitations, cake recipies and decorating hints! It is clear that I am not the only fanatic! I can, without reservation, recommend this book, and its sequal, "The Graffalo's Child", it is colourful, entertaining and the kids just love it. I have also obtained the multi-media copy, and we played it on a trip from the outback to Perth over December .... the kids responded wonderfully to the delightful storytelling, and I have to say, we found it equally relaxing and enjoyable! They demanded to hear it over and over again! Needless to say ... we had a fantastic 15 hour trip! Thank you Julia and Axel... you have indeed created something that I pray will thrill children and parent alike for many years to come!! A must buy!!!!

Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheiffler are a match made in children's book heaven! His quirky and colourful illustrations and her rhyming prose make the book a hit for kids and their parents alike. This is one book you will not get tired of reading over and over again at bed time!

This is a wonderful book the story is amazing and the pictures are fabulous i have read this to my kids many many times and it never gets dull or boring
Its a fascinating story and my kids spend ages looking at the interesting pictures, i highly recommend this book your child will love it

The Gruffalo is one of the best kids books ive read, my two kids absolutely love it

What an awesome little book!! I loved it so much that I am planning a Gruffalo party for my kids birthday in October. The children respond wonderfully to this book, and relate to the clever little mouse and (can you believe it?) huggable Gruffalo. It is easy to read and the illustrations are fabulous. I can recommend the Gruffalo to all mothers and fathers who would love to instll a love of books in their kids. I know that everyone would enjoy it, especially the little ones (and not so little ones) who are scared of monsters in the night. If you love this story, as I know you would, Julia and Axel had also published a sequel, "THe Gruffalo's Child". Both are well worth the money!

If you enjoyed the Gruffalo then dont stop here go and buy the Gruffalos Child .... your children will love you for it ....

Love this book -- when it is my turn to choose the story -- this is one of my favorites! The story line is superb for young ones whilst entertaining for us adults also. The pictures are full of energy and imagination. A MUST on your child's bookshelf. Lovely gift also.
