For junior entomologists, this is a great, simple start. The life-size photographs are particularly useful in identifying various insects and other land invertebrates found around New Zealand, and the first few pages help readers to easily sort out which category any insect belongs to. The downside is that in a book this length, only a small number of insects can actually be detailed - in our insect trails, we've found many that were not included in "The Life-Size Guide..." A more thorough classification is "Which New Zealand Insect?" by the same author.
