I love Suzanne Enoch's books, but found this one quite average. Adventurer, Captain Wolfe returns to England only to find he has been declared dead and one of his former comrades has stolen his manuscript. Enoch is setting the scene for a series of books regarding the 'Adventurers' Club established in this novel. However, none of the other characters really stand out, so unsure of how successful she will be.
