Carbs & Cals Flashcards are a visual guide to carbohydrate and calorie counting. The pack contains 54 durable cards showing photographs of popular food and drink items. One side of each card displays the food or drink portion, and states the prepared/cooked weight below the image. The reverse of the card shows the same photograph, but also clearly shows the amount of carbohydrate and calories in that portion. The Flashcards contain items from the following categories: Biscuits & Crackers, Bread, Breakfast, Cakes & Bakery Items, Desserts, Drinks, Fruit, Meals, Meal Accompaniments, Meat & Fish, Potatoes, Rice, Pasta & Grains, Snacks, Take-aways, and Vegetables & Pulses. Carbohydrate counting is an important part of diabetes management, particularly for Type 1 diabetes and these Flashcards provide an invaluable tool for anyone engaged in this process. For people with Type 2 diabetes or those trying to lose weight, the Flashcards are also a great resource in learning about the calorie counting process. They take out the guesswork and time spent weighing food by showing the calorie content in each food photograph. The Carbs & Cals Flashcards are a great accompaniment to the Carbs & Cals book. PLEASE NOTE: the foods & drinks in this set are different from those in the Carbs & Cals & Protein & Fat Flashcards (ISBN 9780956443083), so it is possible to put both sets together to make a jumbo set of 108 cards with different foods and drinks for carbohydrate, calorie, protein and fat counting.
