Apirana Taylor, is a popular poet, novelist, playwright, actor, musician, and painter and the author of He Tangi Aroha, Ki Te Ao, and Tte Ata Kura. He is of Maori and Pakeha descent, with affiliation to the Ngati Porou, Te Whanau-a-Apanui, and Ngati Ruanui tribes.
