There are ideas for events like milestone birthdays, girly tea parties, baby showers, and hen nights, as well as more exotic occasions like cocktail parties, anniversaries and pool parties. However, Cake Chic isn't necessarily just for girls, but will suit anyone who wants to put on a memorable show with the minimum of fuss.

These are not your everday little cakes and are not forthe beginner but if you have an occasion that it worth the effort then this is the book for you. I must admit, seeing cakes I had spent ages preparing disappear in a single gulp was a bit ouchy so choose your venue! The photos are sumptuous and inspirationsal, the recipes are fiddly but achievable, a must have for that special occaision.

One of a kind!
What can I possibly say about Peggy Porschen that had not been said before?
Peggy is a well-known, London based cake decorator and professional pastry chef (Sir Elton John and Stella McCartney are customers and big fans). Her ideas are utterly original, absolutely lovely and widely copied worldwide.
This book, as well as her other books “Pretty Party Cakes” and “Romantic Cakes”, is gorgeous.
She proves once more that a great cake design/decoration doesn’t necessarily need to be difficult. It demands some basic piping and fondant (sugar paste) handling skills, but the intermediate cake decorator will be able to achieve great results.
The instructions and how-to photographs are excellent and very well explained. The recipes are basic but work very well.
Her cookie decorating designs are so cute that I bet you’ll jump to the kitchen and have a great time among your imagination, gingerbread, colours and royal icing!
