As a result of this book I have a large picture of a purple cow amongst black and white ones on the wall in my office. I re-read sections of the book that are relevant at the time. Its a simple process to be average and just as easy to be remarkable and memorable.
This is a great little book to stimulate organisations to market in a way that will help them become remarkable. Imagine trying to drive past a purple cow. Good common sense.
If you're in Marketing and wondering what the whole point is anymore or ever was then this book might be the one to get you unstuck. Has some great concepts and ideas and lots of example stories.
Looks at mass marketing and mass advertising and their growing ineffectiveness. Good book for some light reading in that it is not like your average marketing text book (dry and boring). It's short to the point and worthwhile reading for anyone in the marketing game.
